Jon Anderson (innate October 25, 1944) is a British musician, the lead singer of the progressive rock band Yes.
He wwhen innate as John Roy Anderson in the town of Accrington, Lancashire, England, his parents being Albert & Kathleen Anderson. (He was late to drop a "h" from either his 1st title.) He attended St. John's Infants School in Accrington, and made a tentative start to his musical career at an early age by playing the washboard in "Little John's Skiffle Group", which played songs by Lonnie Donegan among others.
Anderson left school at the age of xv, & went across the series of jobs including working as the domestic h&, a lorry driver, and a milkman.
Around 1962, Anderson joined The Warriors (also known as A Electric Warriors), in which he & his brother Tony shared a role of lead vocalist. He quit this band around 1967, released ii solo singles inside 1968, and then briefly sang a elastic The Gun and The Open Mind.
In the summertime of 1968, Anderson joined the class action known as Mabel Greer's Toyshop, which also included bassist Chris Squire and guitarist Peter Banks. Anderson fronted this band, however ended higher allowing terminated again prior to a summertime was over. Andersin, Squire, & Banks went on to form Yes, with drummer Bill Bruford and keyboardist Tony Kaye. Their debut album was freed within 1969.
